Cafe Racer

I realize I haven’t posted any motorcycle content (besides the bike show) in a while. For a while now, I’ve been obsessed with the Cafe Racer style motorcycles. Just something about the Vintage racer look that makes them so visually appealing. They are fairly inexpensive to put together and the amount of aftermarket is constantly growing. The Honda CB650 below is a perfect example of a great cafe racer. I love the warn look it give’s and the small details like the taped headlamp. So dope!

Props to Ugly Bike for building a bike that is far from ugly.

Jaguar

It’s not often that I post Jaguar content on here. There is some dope Jag’s out there, but they always fail to see the limelight. The new Jaguar line-up has been improved tremendously so I’m sure we’ll begin to see more in the aftermarket. HPS seems to always get some exotics down on the floor. I posted a R8 a while ago on air ride as well. I think this Jag looks dope as hell. The body lines seem to be accentuated with the bigger wheels and low heights. Props for the first!

Wait…What?

No seriously, go down and look at the color of this Miata. Straight crazy! I remember reading the interview of the owner in a pervious Performance VW mag, and remember him saying he likes getting the attention. If this pink Miata doesn’t, I don’t know what will. I gotta say there is a little bit of “cool” mixed in with the outrageousness of the color. I mean it’s just balls out. And you can’t help but give the dude props, whether you like the car or not.

Wolfsgruppe VAG Event 2011

VAG Event never seems to fail in being one of the biggest Euro shows in the world. With a lot of the people staying over night, and partying all night, I can see why it’s so popular. Besides that it’s a great video. I love all of the small editing details they put in. Makes it that much better of a video.

You guys should have known by now that I would be posting Stephen Brooks’ latest video. This time it’s shot in Paris with a beautiful RS4 wagon on Rotiforms. Once again, you can’t help but love the videography.

Drift B**ch

Lets forget about Silvia, RX7’s, and Supra’s for a second. Wouldn’t it be dope as hell to show up at a drift event with a pickup truck. You got yourself a drift vehicle and a spare parts truck all in one. I love when they throw the JZ and RB motors into the small single cab Nissan’s and Toyota’s and get slideways.

Classic Japanese

I am really growing a huge love for classic Japanese cars. No, let me rephrase myself, a huge addiction to classic Japanese cars. This is a problem because most classic Japanese cars never made it the this country. So I am left scouring the internet to find the best of the best, learning all the chassis names and “old school lingo”. Kind of tough when everything is in Japanese, ha. Anyways, one, of the many classic JDM cars that are catching my eye is the first gen. Soarer. Just something about the classic square body lines that lure me in. Mix that with little touches to the body and a perfect, period set of wheels and you have a car I would sell many things for. So dope.

Car Shopping

Well, since I sold the GTI it’s time to start looking for a new car. This is the most exciting, yet most stressful time. I really love too many cars to just choose one. I was thinking for a daily, to get something a little pimp. Something I can drop, throw on a set of wheels and be done with it. There is a beautiful E38 sport down the street from me in a unique dark blue, but I am slightly worried about the maintenance costs. I’ve seen plenty with high mileage Bimmers, but it’s always in the back of my head. Any 7-series owners out there with some input?

Pics for clicks.

2012 New York International Motorcycle Show

I know, I’m super late with this, but I totally forgot about the pictures I took from the show. I always make sure I don’t miss this show at the Javit Center, I don’t like giving opinions on motorcycles until I see them in person and sit on them. There were a lot of bikes I like for the 2012 model year. The pricing on these bikes are getting pretty crazy though. Maybe I’m just used to seeing anything that wasn’t Ducati, sticker for under 10 grand back in the day. Now you can’t get any 1000 for under $12k. I really liked the new Honda CBR’s, the styling was spot on and they felt light and nimble. Wasn’t too crazy about the Suzuki’s and Kawasaki’s but the new ZX-10’s redesign was sick. The Yahama R1 of course, for me is still the bike to beat. You just can’t beat the power, sound and looks of that bike. The Ducati 848 is still my favorite. The flat white and black are to die for and at a VERY affordable price point.

Anyways I didn’t take a crap load of pictures cause the place was packed as always. Here are some from the set.

Pretty sick custom BMW turbo.

A sick custom stretched and dropped R1.

A really nice full faring Triumph cafe racer.

Nice to see Aprilia back in the show. Can’t go wrong with this RSV-4.

A track version of the bike I WILL own one day. The KTM RC8.

On to Ducati with the all new 1199. This looks like a beast and a half!

A couple pictures of my favorite motorcycle. I really would have a hard time choosing a color. HA!

HRE Wheels: The Birth Of The Vintage Series

Growing up, I always thought that it was known that HRE was THE company when it came to pimp 3-piece wheels. Well at the same time 3-piece wheels weren’t as explosively popular as they are today. I can safely say that HRE has lost it’s flair it once had. I think bringing out a Vintage series was really smart for sales. Props to HRE for consistently producing quality wheels.

This video is pretty dope, showing the entire process of wheel making.
