Car shopping is so frustrating! There is a specific kind of car I’m looking for and they always seem to be for sale when you aren’t looking. Anyways, I wen’t to look at a 7-series the other week and realized it’s too big of a car. Well at least for now. But looking through forums and blogs, I came across this picture and it made me want one all over again. So frustrating!

Well, since I sold the GTI it’s time to start looking for a new car. This is the most exciting, yet most stressful time. I really love too many cars to just choose one. I was thinking for a daily, to get something a little pimp. Something I can drop, throw on a set of wheels and be done with it. There is a beautiful E38 sport down the street from me in a unique dark blue, but I am slightly worried about the maintenance costs. I’ve seen plenty with high mileage Bimmers, but it’s always in the back of my head. Any 7-series owners out there with some input?
Pics for clicks.
I think the E65 7-series was the car that grew on me the least on the BMW line-up. Or maybe it was that ever drug dealer in the Bronx owned one when they came out. But all jokes aside, I think it’s fair to say that the E65 was the least pretty 7 to date. Having said that you don’t really see to many of them modded “right”. I came across these two from Japan, and of course, they are done right. Dropped on a set of wheels that aren’t gaudy 22’s, for once. Props to the owners for taking the chance on a pretty ugly car. Japan does it right!
I have a bias opinion. Everyone does. I didn’t want to just post up the obvious choice of the car everyone loved this past year. I wanted to share the car that made the biggest impact to me personally. Now to narrow down to one single car as the car of the year, is really impossible. There are SO many beautifully crafted cars making their debut this year and they all deserve all the respect I can give. But, like I said I had to choose one car that made the biggest impact on me. It took me literally several hours to choose one, but I think I made the right choice. You see, cars usually look very different in person. Which is a big reason why I love H2O so much. So much variety of cars seen online in one place. I also love the guys who wait until H2O to actually unveil their newest setups or builds. No teasers on the popular site’s and forums. During H2O, while the sun was setting and the rain started to fall, we made a pit stop at a 7-eleven. Walking out Matt Waln pulled up with his BMW E38 and my heart skipped a beat. I stood in front of that 7-eleven and stared at that car until he left. Such a elegant car with a just-right drop and beautiful set of OZ Futuras. The car isn’t “stanced out”. The lip of the wheels aren’t siting on the other side of the fender. It sits, just right. It’s a moment I will never forget. Now, of course there have been fully built cars out there, with a shit load of custom work, a lot more work that ever will go in this E38. But throughout the year no other car effected me as much as this one.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I give you the beauty I beheld in 2011.
Until next year.
