Drift pig that is. This car caught my eye for a couple reasons. Firstly its owned by a Japanese drift and was built just for that reason, to drift. Secondly, the Ferrari 456 was one of those odd exotic cars that I grew up loving. A big car by Ferrari’s standard yet still a performer. It still is hard to get used to seeing Bride’s in a Ferrari, but function>form in this case. I really want to see how this car does sideways. Such a different beast all together. The question is, how much is this expensive exotic going to be beat. We shall see.

Sometimes we forget where a ton of our car enthusiasm really came from. Back in the day we would see these awesome cars that were modified for the race track and do things they never thought were possible. I’m sure the 40’s and 50’s was an extremely exciting time when it came to experimenting on how to make cars faster and look better. Today, we seem to have many of these things down to a science, and it’s becoming more of a creative process. We are constantly looking to break open a new trend and perfect current trends. One “trend” I believe will become more popular is the motorsports fitment. Meaning, functional, fast cars with awesome fitment and great amounts of low. As with many of these posts, below is an example of such. Firstly, I’m sure this particular S2000 gets a ton of track time, but it’s an example of what could come. An awesomely built car with great fitment and low.
Enjoy!
I absolutely love the idea of combining fashion and motorcycle’s together. I’m not talking about a guy rocking some dope Nike’s on a new R1, that is always going to be around. I’m talking about building a vintage BMW and putting together a period correct layered outfit. Now that, is something that will catch everyone’s eye. I found this picture below and thought these two BMW R-series motorcycles and thought they were the perfect example of this. A classic bike with modern inspiration. Now work on that outfit! I would love to see some cafe, brat, etc style meets in New York. It’s the absolute perfect scene for the look!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This one, to some is worth a little more. This picture is a simple, random shot from a shop in Japan, but look at the history in the picture. And look how well they’re done. A third generation Honda Civic that is modded perfection. I really dig when the motorsports style is done right. We’ll, I’m sure it’s not “style” and it does get track time. An awesome widebody and a custom set of Work CR-01’s with a ton of performance mods. May I also mention the absolutely MINT first gen Integra with a lovely girl driver. I really would love to see more of those modded. Everytime I see a clean one done right it looks absolutely beautiful. And I’m pretty sure the silver one below is sitting on Barramundi wheels. Some won’t understand how awesome this photo is, but it definitely caught my eye, and I’m sure it will catch many of your’s.
I love Japan.
Who would have though “stance” would have lasted this long? I didn’t, but secretly inside I REALLY hoped it wouldn’t turn out to be a fad. C’mon you know you did too! At this point we can all safely say it isn’t going anywhere, so why not embrace it! Sure the word “stance” is super annoying but so is “yolo” and “swag” and look how long those phrases lasted. Anyway’s as we embrace stance, lets check out this cool vid on a stanced out RSX. Personally, I’m in love with this thing. I’ve always had a soft spot for RSX’s but this one is definitely extreme. Air ride always helps with crazy fitment and the addition of the super wide Works just put this car over the edge. Boy, I would rock the crap out of this thing. Props to the builder!
Lets start this year off right with some REAL motorsports content. After all, we get most of our inspiration and aftermarket parts from the race track. It all eventually goes down to the street car level. It’s pretty incredible just how fast these cars are, and just as incredible is the process is takes to get a car that fast. Every little thing is calculated, from the tires and air pressure, to the suspension geometry and load, to the angle of various aerodynamics, to the weight saving, and so on and so fourth. These guys are geniuses and they are all trying to take milliseconds off their laps times just like the Formula 1 guys.
Enjoy a lap with this crazy S15. With all the modification I wonder if you could still call it a S15. Awesome!
Hello all!! A few small changes for the coming new year for the blog! Firstly It has been re-named True Driving, as this is our brand and we’d like to consolidate names to bring less confusion to our viewers. I really like to thank everyone who has followed and still follows this blog. The content will still be exactly the same, and it is still written by the same person, it is simply just a name change.
It has been an amazing year, filled with ups and downs, and I am extremely grateful for everyone that I have spent it with and everyone I have met. There are some awesome people in this community and I thank God for each of them and what they have contributed to it. 2013 will be another amazing, and exhausting year that will be filled with surprises and new ideas. I really cant wait to show you guys what we have in store and to see what everyone else bring to the table. I love to see when everyone steps their game up. It’s all about the friendly competition that keeps us building.
FYI – we still own the tunedmotion.com domain, and it will link to the same blog if it’s typed in. No worries!
Have an awesome new year and stay safe!
I really love when you get an inside look into someone’s personal car collection. Every one is different and it’s always cool to see what influences each purchase. I have to say, Mr Griot has one of the most awesome “small” collections I’ve seen. I love when an enthusiast level brings you to love and buy a 80’s BMW M3 and Indy race car in the same room. Buying a car sometimes goes beyond the car.
Watch and enjoy this guys tremendous collection, and get a inside look into Griots Garage.
These Porsche 944’s are seriously getting popular. I’m pretty sure it’s the cheapest running Porsche you can currently get, so it makes sense that this fun machine is getting popular. Sure it’s not the most reliable car, or the easiest to work on, or the cheapest to fix, but hey that’s what owning a Porsche is all about. From what I’ve seen and heard it’s an awesome car to own once you get a the bugs worked out. Plus, there is a LSx swap kit available for it. You really can’t look with reliable horsepower and german handling.
Imagine this wide 944 with a LSx swap. It would own the track!
I’ve really been posting a ton of videos, but I can’t help put post good content. I think odd vintage finds have been really pushing me over the edge when surfing the net. I find myself constantly looking for odd, old cars I have never heard of, or a car in a color combo that is just way too cool to resist. I thought it was pretty awesome after SO MANY years this guy seemed to find a car his father owned before a war. Pretty crazy when you think about it.
Btw, a very Merry Christmas to all of my viewers, a couple key changes going to be in place very soon, so stay tuned!
