Feeding my hunger for odd cars, the Iso Grifo is just one of those cars that you get or you don’t. You can definitely see the Italian styling in the body and hear the reliable American muscle when it moves. Kind of getting the best of both worlds when it comes to late 60’s – early 70’s automobiles. I personally like the early Grifo’s without the hidden headlights, but they all have their own beauty. The exterior is very Ferrari/Alfa Romeo with a hint of Barracuda in the rear. Any one else get that? It is simple is a VERY beautiful car that in my opinion, doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
And just in case anyone is wondering. These cars are easily fetching $200,000+ now. Crazy.
I’ve really been posting a ton of videos, but I can’t help put post good content. I think odd vintage finds have been really pushing me over the edge when surfing the net. I find myself constantly looking for odd, old cars I have never heard of, or a car in a color combo that is just way too cool to resist. I thought it was pretty awesome after SO MANY years this guy seemed to find a car his father owned before a war. Pretty crazy when you think about it.
Btw, a very Merry Christmas to all of my viewers, a couple key changes going to be in place very soon, so stay tuned!
First and foremost, I want to wish everyone here on the East coast that was affected by this horrible hurricane in some way a fast recovery. Thankfully, there wasn’t too much destruction on this side of town, but it’s really incredible seeing parts of Manhattan under water. I get my cut in the lower east side on thursday, so it’s going to be pretty crazy seeing most things first hand.
One thing always in the back of my mind, is when I can afford to, I would love to buy some of the cars my father once owned, and give them to him. After all I do owe my obsession to all things on wheels to him. Don Minkoff really had a great opportunity to keep some really amazing and classic cars. And I’m glad he kept his fathers spirit alive. The Mercedes 220SE is an absolute timeless definition of beautiful rolling art. To own it must be an amazing experience. To know the car has a ton of history in your family must make it an experience not to be replaced.
