Automotive Perfection

Of course, everyone’s definition of perfect is different, but for me a Porsche 993 Carrera with a roll cage and dropped  on rare BBS motorsports wheels is perfect in every way. You have many options with this car now-a-days with RWB and of course the oem GT3/2 body cladding. But as a person who likes simplistic design sometimes simple is better. Of course if I had to choose between the two I would be driving home a RWB 993 but it’s because it’s probably the sickest thing on the road. But as far as oem, you just can’t get any better then a stock bodied 993. It’s just beautiful, and more importantly, timeless.

I’ll probably be busy all day tomorrow, so I’ll throw a quick post up here. Happy fathers day to all the dad’s out there! Keep up the good work! Below is a picture of my fathers favorite car, and a car I will buy him one day. The perfect combination of comfort and speed. Enjoy!

A Stephen Brooks Production

I have been talking a lot about car related videos and how they all seem to be the same. Don’t get me wrong, there are some talented guys out there, but I’m getting tired of seeing videos of a camera on a glidetrack going back and fourth the entire video. I’m not saying, if you produce a video it has to be an elaborate production, I understand people simply do it for fun. BUT those that do charge, eh, please continue to step your game up and better yourself. Props to those that do. I have ALWAYS been a fan of Stephen Brooks videos because he simply knows how to put together a perfect video. It takes a ton of skill to put together something so good. And for that I give him a lot of respect. Check out his latest addition, showing how a night vid should be done!

Building a Show Worthy Car

Now, I know that title is very controversial. Many people have very different views on building a “show car”. Some people aren’t fans of show cars and I am not here to disagree. I personally love when a car gets driven they are supposed to, but I also love full restoration type builds that are pieces of art when done. As someone who accepts VIP applicants for a car show, I think as a community, some have forgotten what a “show car” actually is. We have been overwhelmed with the popularity of air ride and “stance” that many think all they need to do is throw on a dope set of wheels and be super low, and they’ve got a show stopper. In many ways they do, since it’s what is so popular now-a-days. But like I said, we are seeing less and less full builds. Not too sure if it’s a bad thing just yet, but I hope we can all get back to really enjoying the journey of a build instead of looking for attention and internet fame.

Below is a perfect example of what I believe a show car really is. Details, details, details!! Many custom parts and shopping list of mods. This right now, is my favorite build of the year. And it’s going to be pretty hard to top, as you can see.

Depth of Speed: Taking the Plunge

I could only imagine what it is like to own a vintage Skyline. It’s a dream for many, including myself. I mean I have yet to even see one in person yet. They all seem to be on the west coast, which makes sense. But to actually own one, that must be an overwhelming experience, being behind the wheel of a car that is wanted by all car enthusiasts around the world. A great video from Depth of Speed showing a guy who is absolutely in love with his new car.

Vintage Style: Cafe Racers

I believe if your a true enthusiast of something, you should know it’s history. When you know where it came from you have a better understanding of where it is now and why. I came across this well made video basically documenting cafe racers and their riders. Where they think the cafe “game” is now and how far it has come. It’s kind of humorous that the “cafe racer” style bike came from guys literally racing their bike’s from cafe to cafe. Now, it’s something that’s popular around the world. Whether it’s a vintage or a brand new bike, it’s all good. It’s all about the community. It’s all about the freedom of the ride.

Function x Form

Like I said in my last post, it’s always great to see a dope truck, that is not only modded but is also functional. Found this Datsun (sunny?) in one of the various blogs I follow and thought it was so cool. Perfect, period correct mods with a little function added to it. Props, again for not being scared to actually use your car.

Rod Tow Rigs

It’s one thing to have a show car/truck that is so built that it needs to be towed to a show. Besides that some shows are very far and people just don’t want to chance driving a show car far distances. That brings you the need for tow vehicles. And if your a car nut, any car you own you just can’t leave alone. We have all seen our share of radical tow vehicle’s, but I found another to add to that list.

Where do you even start with a tow truck like this? It’s just about as sick as the truck it’s towing. Damn it would just be so dope to build something like this.

Barramundi Wheels

In many way, us here in the States have really been overwhelmed with the amount of wheel company’s. I mean it seems like every couple of months you hear about a new one. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing, but there are always issues when a certain market gets flooded. I digress, I’ve been hearing about this wheel company in Japan, Barramundi Wheels and I really am not surprised it has not hit the states yet. From what I’ve seen they make some great, classic looking wheels that would work on most cars. I wonder how long it’ll be til we catch on.

Here are a few example from Japan of one set of wheels the company sells. Pretty dope I would say.

RWB Russia Porsche 911 – First!

We may not understand the first 5 minutes of the video, but you can see the child-like excitement of meeting Mr. RWB. There is a universal language that we all can understand in the passion and building of beautiful cars. It must be pretty exciting to have him come to your country just to build you a car no one else will have. I have express how much I love the business practice behind RWB, but it’s shows just how dedicated he is to keeping each RWB car as perfect as the last he built.

Enjoy
