“No one rolls lower or wider then Bee Dragon”. I have to agree with that quote. Some guys here in the states love rolling low, but most of them do it wrong, and wind up destroying the car. It takes a ton of work and dedication to roll low and wide, correctly. If your going to do it, do it right. Shown in the video, is the radius fenders which gives a ton of tire/wheel clearance while riding inches off the ground. This seriously must be jaw dropping to see in real life. Props to the guys who have been driving low in Japan wayyyyy before us here in the states caught on.

I don’t know if you’ve been noticing but I really am trying not to post the obvious stuff that every else is posting on the thousands of blogs out there. I try and shoot for more of what catches my eyes and interest. I’ve always loved Miata’s, but I’ve hated the fact that they can’t really keep up with the competition when it comes to drifting. I understand the whole short wheelbase/long wheelbase logic, but there has to be a way to get more speed, angle, and smoke out of the little verts.
“Stance” I believe is a word that gets a bad rap. Mainly because it’s overused by attention whores who do it for the looks they get. At the end of the day there is a science to getting the right fitment. It’s not something you can guess, you have to do a ton a research, measuring and some trial and error to get it down. I have some ideas of where “fitment” will be going in the future, but I’ll keep that to myself. Having said that, I do believe the guy that build cars right, will always take things in the right direction. For the MK1 guys, you know how hard it is at times to get 13’s to sit right. It’s a small car, but 13’s will always be small wheels. So when you do come across a car that pulled it off absolutely perfectly, it stands out like a mother!
Damn this thing looks good.
I really am a sucker for automotive history. I love to learn where trends came from, how things started, and how it makes things they way they are now. When people hear “Cal look” I think we think of a state of mind and life style more then anything else. But it really comes down to these group of Beetle owners who modded their Bugs the way they wanted and didn’t care what anyone thought. When you think about it, and look at the cars, they take a lot of features from how the American muscle cars were modded back in the day. I personally think it’s cool as hell these guys created such a cool look to these cars. Oh, and of course I am posting it because it’s another Stephen Brooks creation. He seriously is making the best videos currently. Plain and simple.
Props.

Sometimes that classic car with the first set of wheels and fitment is all I need. Hell if you can tell the paint on the car is fading badly, but its dropped so nicely on a set of Rotiforms that it almost doesn’t matter. It’s perfect in it’s own way.
I have a large soft spot for original mini coopers. Just something about the styling that will never get old. Kind of that, a lot of fun out of a small package, deal. Which in my opinion never gets old. Great short video of a shoot done in a great setting. Props.

Many people have very different views on building a “show car”. Some people aren’t fans of show cars and I am not here to disagree. I personally love when a car gets driven they are supposed to, but I also love full restoration type builds that are pieces of art when done. As someone who accepts VIP applicants for a car show, I think as a community, some have forgotten what a “show car” actually is. We have been overwhelmed with the popularity of air ride and “stance” that many think all they need to do is throw on a dope set of wheels and be super low, and they’ve got a show stopper. In many ways they do, since it’s what is so popular now-a-days. But like I said, we are seeing less and less full builds. Not too sure if it’s a bad thing just yet, but I hope we can all get back to really enjoying the journey of a build instead of looking for attention and internet fame.
Below is a perfect example of what I believe a show car really is. Details, details, details!! Many custom parts and shopping list of mods. This right now, is my favorite build of the year. And it’s going to be pretty hard to top, as you can see.
I apologize for the lack of posts. A death in the family is never fun.
I know this might come across as controversial, but when it comes to this huge movement of stance, tire stretch, and fitment, there is only one car that comes to mind that started it all. I remember seeing this car for the first time at H20 years and my jaw dropped to the floor. It was really hard to understand how a tire could look like that on a wheel. Or that something like that was even possible. It looks like it was ready to fall off! Who knew that car would change the whole game. Now I have followed this scene deeply for years now, and I really can’t remember any car that impacted it as much as this mk2 coupe did. Not only was it a complete show stopper with a shaved bay like no one had over seen before, but a complete restoration, new interior, and details that would take you all day to find. It was YEARS ahead of it’s time. It’s kind of weird how it just fell off the map. Would have loved to see the car again. We’ve been hearing rumors for years that it’s on another rebuild, but we haven’t really seen anything yet. Huge amount of props to the builder for going way outside the box. F**k the hate!
You know, it’s gets really annoying when some people are so close minded about a lot of aspects in this aftermarket automotive market we are swarmed in. If you don’t like stance, that’s fine, but there’s no need to go a bash people who do. It’s just like music and clothing, people are always going to like different things. I was brought up to love everything automotive, and I still do. So even though I’ve owned mostly european it doesn’t mean I don’t like enjoying Japanese or anything. In fact there are tons of non-european cars I plan on building. I came across this picture, and it kind of reminded me of how many people hate seeing cars like this. But who cares? Do what you love. Props to the people who don’t build cars for other groups and acceptance. Your doing it right.
Alright, so, I think it’s safe to say that “stance” has taken over the world. And with everything, people are going to try and push the boundaries until they can’t be pushed anymore, or something breaks lol. So here, below, I give the most controversial car in the world. No seriously, look at the thing. There is no other car like it. No one has tried anything close to this. Not even the demon camber guys. This is just crazy. Apparently he drove it to the show. Sure, it looks crazy, it looks stupid, but since when was the car community so serious? It’s nothing most of us wouldn’t even think of doing, and for that you have to respect the guy. Props to him for pushing the “stance”, camber, and tire stretch boundaries beyond a place anyone thought it could go.
