I swear I could watch this video 5,000 times. I’m getting ready for round 3 as we speak. As many of you know, I have an absolute addiction with classic cars. Come to think of it we have a couple things up our sleeves for all the classic car addicts in the northeast. But that comes later. I feels like the more modern, modern cars get, the less we feel in touch with them and gravitate back to the simple machines from back in the day. I guess it’s the connection that draws us back. It’s something that really resounds in all areas in life, more it not always better.
I have an enormous amount of respect for every single one of these builders. I rather enjoy the separation of the restorers and the modifiers. I think it makes them all better at the end of the day. What do you guys like? Period correct restorations or modified classic cars?
I think in the tuner world we can all call the S13 a classic car. Although it isn’t all too old, there is no denying it is a staple in the sport compact world. Combining great looks with almost infinite mod capabilities, and the popularity of drifting, it is easy to see why it has become so popular. Many know that I have never been a fan of body kits, but like many things body kits are coming back in a huge way. But now it isn’t about gaudy and ridiculous kits that completely ruin the lines of the car. Now, we are seeing a ton of kits that accentuate and complement OEM lines. A kit I have fallen in love with is the Spirit Rei 180sx kit. It seems to give the car sleeker, moderns line while still keeping a very classic and aggressive looks. It is definitely at the top of my list of favorite 180sx kits. Mated with a set of beautiful Work Meister’s, set in a classic red on silver combo and you’ve got a winner all around. I have some serious amounts of want for this thangggg.
Some days I really with I was better with my hands. Some of these guys who build cars for a living really have an eye for clean aesthetics. It takes a ton more then many people think to build a custom car. I mean, making a frame for a car that never had a frame is pretty intense stuff. That takes some serious amounts of skill. It so cool seeing these classic being brought back to life and made better then the manufacturers themselves. Classic styling. Vintage inspiration. Modern design. Can’t get much better then that.
I really have been slacking on posts here. But, the facebook page is always being updated with the same type of content.
In other news, I have had this love affair with the old BMW R-series motorcycles. I think some of it comes with my soft spot for European machines. But most of it comes from the unique styling and beautiful lines. It gives off a very old world kind of look, which is great because it looks just as good with some modern, more simplistic styling. A great example here of a BMW R75 with a more modern, cafe racer styling and it looks right at home. Not to mention the modern rear end. It really aids to the versatility of the bike overall. This truly is a classic and a must own for an motorcycle enthusiast.
Not many people know about my obsession with motorcycle’s. And really, the north east doesn’t have any big meets or gatherings that pertain to it. It’s really a shame because I am slowly seeing them become more and more popular. I was in soho/the village yesterday and was really shocking in the number of cafe style bike’s I saw. It really is part of a lifestyle for many, and for others part of a really badass dapper look. For me they are an extension of my passion, they are pieces of art, they make a statement, and they give you the all important feeling of freedom. I have been a HUGE classified Moto fan ever since they started, their style, and creativity is unmatched. This latest monster is based off a Yamaha XV1100 and has a crap load of custom mods. Check to see what a stock XV looks like and you’ll see what I mean. So dope. I love the addition of modern parts. You can sit and stare at it for hours. That makes it a work of art.
I wouldn’t normally post something like this. But for some reason this Harley really caught my eye. It’s very, very different to say the least. What catches my eye is the fact that it is ALL red. I mean, take a second to look at it. Everything from the front forks, hand grips, even the kick stand! I just has a ultra modern, ultra clean look to it that is undeniable. Must hurt like crap with out a seat though!
I have to say, I would go as far as rocking the red sunglasses, shirt and sneakers, but I do just credit where credit is due.
