Ok, so this might not be the best example, but give them a look when you get a chance. A lot of quality car builds coming out of the island. It’s pretty amazing when you think, it must cost more for everything, since it all needs to be flown in from around the world. But it obviously has not slowed anyone down from buying quality parts and putting together some show-stopper rides. I like the car below for a couple reasons. Firstly, I’m from the Bronx, NY and there is a significance to the Acura from childhood. It was an extremely popular car in the “hood”. Secondly, how simply the car was done. Fresh paint, air ride, and custom Mugen M7’s. Not to mention it looks like its a straight up Japanese model Honda. So dope. Such a sleeper classic.

Now, I know that title is very controversial. Many people have very different views on building a “show car”. Some people aren’t fans of show cars and I am not here to disagree. I personally love when a car gets driven they are supposed to, but I also love full restoration type builds that are pieces of art when done. As someone who accepts VIP applicants for a car show, I think as a community, some have forgotten what a “show car” actually is. We have been overwhelmed with the popularity of air ride and “stance” that many think all they need to do is throw on a dope set of wheels and be super low, and they’ve got a show stopper. In many ways they do, since it’s what is so popular now-a-days. But like I said, we are seeing less and less full builds. Not too sure if it’s a bad thing just yet, but I hope we can all get back to really enjoying the journey of a build instead of looking for attention and internet fame.
Below is a perfect example of what I believe a show car really is. Details, details, details!! Many custom parts and shopping list of mods. This right now, is my favorite build of the year. And it’s going to be pretty hard to top, as you can see.
This past Sunday was a small but great show in New York called Eurothon. It was my first time so I didn’t know what to expect. It was set at a park and it was an absolutely beautiful day for a show. It was a chill environment and there were some dope cars in attendance. I snapped a couple pictures so I figured I’d share with you. fyi- check out the official Eurothon coverage on SNTRL.com. Thanks!
Start off with Evan’s beautiful S4 static on Bentley wheels.
This MK3 was interesting to say the least. That’s a 10inch wide wheel in the back with a 0 offset. Doesn’t exactly fit but to each their own!
Some really nice old school BMW’s came out. Always a pleasure seeing the classics.
Clean small bumper MK2.
Gotta love the air-cooled goodness.
Ugh! One day I will own a RS4. So dope!
E46 with all the CSL goodies.
Porsche 964. I really wish I saw more of these modded in the north east.
Many of you should know of this car. Loving the new color interior.
This has got to be one of the best vendor display’s I have ever seen. Props to Euromedian for putting in the work to make something that is one of a kind.
Nice MK4. This car has come a long way from years back. Pretty awesome bay too.
Pretty embarrassed to show this, but here you can see just how low he is, damn I need some suspension! lol
I am currently in love with this MK1, such a motivator to finish building mine.
More old school BMW loveliness. 2002 with subtle mods.
Been seeing this car around a lot lately. Done very well with air and white RS’.
This Mk5 was pretty impressive with the CCW Smoothies and crazy air tank setup in the back seat.
Was really digging this new GLI on OZ’s.
Again this MK1 is pretty much perfect. Euro bumpers, air, VR swap, BBS RS’, cage, clean interior, flaired fenders, on and on. Damn!
I leave you guys with this beautiful Mercedes CL dropped on OZ’s. This car really doesn’t need much to stand out. Props to the owner.
I really loved the laid back atmosphere brought by the guys at Eurothon, so until next year…
So I recently acquired a Audi B6 S4 and promised myself I would keep it stock and actually enjoy the car for a year before tearing it down and modding. I came across these photos from Worthersee and damn does it look good!! Very simple, yet very affective. Air ride a set of Vossen’s and this car is good to go. Ah man, now to hold myself back from my addiction!
So it has always just been kinda known that when you talk about air bag suspension, your talking about a show car. But there is something that over years people might not get. Things get better, more reliable, more simplified. I am seeing, especially in the muscle car world, that they are using air ride suspension on their track cars. I’m not talking about full blown race cars but cars that get thrashed around the track every weekend. Sometime’s we have to remind ourselves that things always improve when there is a market. Bags have gotten very reliable, and like I said very simplified. Weight is not as much an issue as it was before. So if your torn between bags and coilovers because you want to be low and still perform well, don’t be. Air bags are very capable. Below is a pretty good example. We all know Evo’s are really fast cars, but we also know they look sick slammed to the ground. He’s got the best of both worlds. Props.
Like I said in my previous post, Fresh Meet this past sunday was absolutely amazing. The show-out was beyond all of us expected and so was the quality of cars that attended. We all at Fresh Meet would love to thank every person who showed up. It sucked because I was personally telling people they couldn’t come in after the parking lot was full, but there was no other option. We’d like to thank everyone for understanding. The next Fresh Meet will be way bigger and way better!
Anyways on to my pretty short coverage. When I showed up I wen’t right to work, helping park cars and did that for the entire day, so I didn’t get nearly enough pictures that I wanted to. The quality isn’t to great either because when I did take a picture it was quick so I could keep helping. On to it…
As you’ll see this meet covered everything. From Japanese to European to American.
A beautiful Jetta GLI on air ride and CCW’s.
A little different here. A S2K on Mercedes wheels.
I recently bought a B6 S4 so I really was liking this one dropped on Bentley’s.
Very nice GTI in CCW’s.
A very clean Supra on SSR’s.
As you can see cars packed in every where you look. Nothing but quality all around.
Beautiful MK5 on BBS RS’. I love white on white.
Copper centers on the CCW’s were a nice touch. I really don’t like seeing S2K’s without any type of front lip, but it’s understandable in this state and how low it sits.
Very clean Integra Type R with jdm front. Always loved these in yellow.
Two more great looking Mk5’s on air and Rotiform’s.
I really was digging this Accord on Varrstoen’s. Fitment was a thing of beauty.
Beautiful Lexus from the guys at Liberty VIP. Was a treat seeing them out here.
Ice Cream!! A much needed visit…
Always a pleasure seeing this turbo R32. Gotta love the hood mod.
A car I love to see. Porsche 993 GT2 sitting on recently acquired Rotiform’s. A thing of beauty.
Lovely BMW 318. Man, you really can’t go wrong with a modded E36.
Really nice Jetta with a crap load of work done. Owner seemed super cool as well.
As you can see some of my pictures were rushed.
Ray of Unique Auto.
Half of Kevin’s hatch, of Unique Auto.
Was really digging this RL on air. Something out of the ordinary and looks great.
Alex of Unique Auto’s newest project. S2K on CCW’s. He’s got a lot planned for this thing.
Always nice seeing a fully built motorcycle brought out.
Beautifully done Scion on air and BBS RS’.
I really couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this R34 pull up. Midnight Purple and Volk TE37’s, perfect combination.
Very cool Honda Accord coupe slammed on CCW’s.
Yep! Your looking at a Honda K-swap in a MK3 Jetta. Pretty crazy. Would definitely be a huge standout with more work.
Something very different showing up. We definitely welcome stuff like this.
Some exotic sightings.
A drift car that is actually drifted. Love seeing cars like this. Official Soarer too.
Two official RHD cars from the motherland. Really nice.
Eddy of Unique Auto and his dope Fit. This guy was all over the place on Sunday!
I think at this point I stopped shooting and started helping again. We heard there was an accident on the highway caused by two guys racing, and that’s when the cops came to shut the event down. It was such a bummer since the event was going so well. Always has to be one out the bunch to ruin it for everyone. smh.
Here are the cops giving out tickets. I really felt bad for the guys receiving them.
I wish I got better shots of this car. This to me, is the best built civic on the east coast. Such attention to detail. Pretty cool to see it on air as well. Really, nothing was looked over on this car. Owner was cool too. Would love to get more shots of it.
Basically at this point, everyone was leaving. The cops told everyone to bounce so they all slowly left the parking lot. Really glad there weren’t any fender benders since the cars were parked pretty close together. We cleaned up and I took some more random shots. Overall it was a great experience for us all. From this, I know the next event will be much, much better.
That’s all she wrote! Again, my coverage was lacking but I did the best I could with the time I had. Thanks for looking! Until next time…
I wanted to post something really different then the norm today. Looking through my iPhoto I came across this picture of a R1 that I absolutely loved. Firstly, I love the new R1’s as is it, but slammed on air with extensive mods is another story. Now, personally, I wouldn’t go this far with a motorcycle, but I’m sure it would be SICK to see this thing rolling down the highway, slammed to the floor. You have to love the murder black and deep red frame. I would rock this for days!
I hope some of you are good with chassis code’s. The W124 is the chassis code for the Mercedes Benz E-class, built in the mid 80’s and into the mid 90’s. This car is another example of a classic german car that can look really, really good with the right mods. Below is a perfectttttt example. Painted in a beautiful green, on air and rocking as set of classic MAE wheels (assuming). I absolutely love when they tint the front and rear lights. This car really needs nothing else. I would rock it all day!
I would LOVE to know what front bumper this is. Any ideas?
I don’t know why but I’ve ALWAYS wanted to buy one of these older gen. Mercedes Benz SL’s. I remember seeing a red one in Dupont about ten years ago slammed on Brabus wheels and it always stuck with me. I know this car would look absolutely beautiful on air and a wide set of 3-piece wheels. I’ve only really seen modded examples in Europe and Germany, but nothing here in the states. I did see that one of the guys at Rotiform purchased one, so I’m sure it’ll be looking exactly how I would want it soon enough.
