Volkswagens and Speed

Lets face it, when it comes to going fast, it really isn’t the priority for a bunch of vdubbers. You definitely see more Honda heads on the quarter mile track then volkswagens when the shows come around. It does get you to wonder. I guess it has to the do with the ease of moding Honda motors as opposed to German motors. You really don’t see many 9-second small German cars, while there are dozens of Honda’s that can hit 9’s all day long. Not sure if its disappointing or not, but it does suck when it comes to quarter mile times, and Honda’s owning the game. At the end of the day it boils down to what guys are into now-a-days.

Found this vid of a 900hp 16v that has been spread around the interwebs, and going into the 8’s. I must say, that’s REALLY impressive for a street car. What’s even better is that he drives it home. Props!

A Dangerous Machine

I love when you still see people creating purely from within. Forget all the trends, all the social media, this BMW was created from one person. It’s pretty crazy when could be created when your decisions aren’t altered by influences in social media. Some may call this bike a complete disaster, but I don’t think that’s the point. I think admiring this machine as a unique creation, that will never be build again, is how we should go about it. It does remind me of a terminator, end of the world type bike with a steam punk influence. You just really can’t put your finger on it. But it looks like a beast. But hey, watch the video. He explains his thought process pretty damn well. It sure gets you thinking.

Great video btw, very well done.

Ok, I Have To Talk About It

Seriously, can we take some time to talk about how insane this Rocket Bunny FRS is. I know, it’s on every blog and facebook page, but rightfully so. Most of us knew the FRS/BRZ had a ton of potential, but this Rocket Bunny kit took potential to the next level. Just look at it. It accentuates the body lines perfectly, it’s wide without being gaudy wide, and rocks a racing wing that fits in with the kit perfectly. What more could you want? No serious, all other kits are just downhill from here. haha Just kidding. If I ever meet the creator of this beauty, I will not hesitate to give him a hug. lol

What’s even better is that it looks just as good on 16/17 inch BBS RS’ as it does on 19 inch Enkei’s. True rolling art.

I really wish I had some serious welding skills. I would open a custom motorcycle shop tomorrow. The attraction those bikes like the one below goes beyond an enthusiast attraction. It’s a damn addiction. Haven’t really mentioned it to many, but I bought a ’73 Yamaha XS650 that I plan on rebuilding, brat style. Not sure exactly what bike this is, but it looks like an 80’s Honda cb900. Could be wrong. Really digging the shortened rear end. Simplicity at it’s best.

Rolling art.

MotorHEAD モーターヘッド // Racing In The street : Group C Porsche 962

There are some moments in life that will always be hard to forget. I have a ton of memories when it comes to the car scene, but I don’t think any of them would compare to spending time and driving in a car like this. Forget BMW, this Porsche 962 is THE ultimate driving machine in every way shape and form. I mean just look at it. It’s a street legal racing car. I’m putting an exerience like this into words would be very hard, so I’m happy Maiham-Media was able to make this video.

Enjoy!

On The Subject Of Fitment…

Before I even start, why do so many people take “stance” so damn serious! I mean everyone has different style, so just because their fitment isn’t what you like, doesn’t mean you can talk trash about it. There are many, many different forms of wheel fitment. And I’m sure we have all seen a ton of cars in the various styles on the rainbow of fitment. We now have to be aware of the different styles of fitment. That extreme cambered out, fender rubbing, tire stretching style will always be around whether we like it or not. But I believe since “stance” has died down just a bit, your going to see new, great looking types of fitment. A style I am seriously digging currently is fitment with a fat tire. No stretch. A sort of motorsports feel to it. I would LOVE to see more cars rocking it. I found a couple shot of a S200 from Texas with this lovely fitment, and is doing it pretty damn well.

H20i 2012

I really have to apologize, because I usually have a ton of coverage from H2Oi weekend going up, but this year I wanted to enjoy the weekend a little more. Also, I was helping the guys at STNRL with their coverage and wasn’t using my personal memory card. So when their coverage goes up, I’ll be posting some links up. Anyways, I had an absolute blast, like every year, and was blown away by the amount of beautiful cars that attended. It’s pretty crazy how much word has spread about the epicness of H2Oi weekend, and the extreme variety of cars. For me, that’s what makes the weekend. You seriously never know what your going to see. What crazy build will show up. I mean there are even non-european cars that aim to be done so they can reveal during the weekend. It’s just plain nuts!

I found this video, and thought it was pretty cool. Didn’t catch a TON of sick cars cruising the strip, but it seriously is very hard to capture every car. There are just too many!

Man of Morgan

I can be some of a history junky when it comes to cars and motorcycles. What attracted me to this video even more, is the uniqueness of Morgan. It’s a company known for still using wood in the structure of the car. It’s something that is just plain cool and with the super old school vibe it can’t be denied. Offering super light bases and pretty reliable motors you have a wining combo that has stood the test of time. What’s even cooler about these cars is hearing a passionate restorer talk about them. This is what it’s all about. The passion. The history.

Maiham-Media x Stancenation: Bee Dragon

“No one rolls lower or wider then Bee Dragon”. I have to agree with that quote. Some guys here in the states love rolling low, but most of them do it wrong, and wind up destroying the car. It takes a ton of work and dedication to roll low and wide, correctly. If your going to do it, do it right. Shown in the video, is the radius fenders which gives a ton of tire/wheel clearance while riding inches off the ground. This seriously must be jaw dropping to see in real life. Props to the guys who have been driving low in Japan wayyyyy before us here in the states caught on.

ONE HOT MINUTE

Crap load of skill. I really don’t think these speedway riders get enough coverage or credit for the amount of skill it takes to ride these bikes. I mean take a look at this video. Just look at the angle of slide and lean these guys have to use in turns. It’s incredible. It’s almost unbelievable.

Enjoy!
