Supermade S15 x TAS

So this was the first car that stood out to me in the sea of cars at the show. Its a Nissan S15 built by Supermade. If you follow some of Supermade’s cars they tend to build crazy drift cars with huge wheels. This car went in a very different direction sporting 15inch (yes, 15) Work Equip’s slammed with carbon fiber diffusers around the entire car. Looks great with the widebody. They took a chance with the styling and it just really seems to work.

Hopefully I will have more cars to show but it seems there hasn’t been a lot of show coverage. If any one reads this and has some type of hookup to go to this show next year, I’m willing to work my butt of to get there!

Enjoy the car.

thanks to speedhunters and fatlace for the pictures

2011 Tokyo Auto Salon

Ok, so I didn’t go myself. But this show is another that I hope in the future I can attend every year. It is the biggest aftermarket car show in Japan, at least that I know of. The Japanese are always pushing the boundaries as far as tuning and modifying cars, trucks, van, etc. And you have to love some of the quirky, weird things they do to some of the odd cars offered in Japan. Here is one of the first video coverages of the show. Thanks to Fatlace for the video. The quality in a lot of these cars are just meticulous. As pictures surface I’m going to post up some of the cars that stood out.

JDM son!

Is It September Yet?

If you don’t know about H20 International by now, then your doing something wrong. For me H2O is the pinnacle of my year as far as car shows go. I mean, spending a weekend constantly surround by some of the best cars on the east coast, it’s as good as it gets for the modded car enthusiast. So as I wait another 8 months til automotive bliss, I’ll show you guys a video from last year. Pretty decent vid. I would show others but most of them have been seen to death.

Enjoy!

Audi RS(sex)

Firstly, whoever thought that Audi could make such an amazing and beautiful wagon? I know Audi just did record breaking numbers in the US. Why couldn’t they bring the RS6 to a market with such a huge enthusiast base?! The RS6 wagon and sedan would have sold within weeks of release. And if they didn’t sell, Audi has the capital to take a slight loss. Ok I’m done ranting, on to the car. Sex on wheels, perfectly widened fenders, and just a small twin turbo V10 putting out 570hp! To me that just means that it is a very tunable motor. Great job to Audi, now bring it to the states!

On to pictures of some modified examples.

First on is slammed on some 21inch Merc AMG wheels.

Kind of like this look better then tucking rim in the back

This beautiful RS is lowered on ADV.1 wheels.

A New Heart

I love the out of the box thinking that was needed when doing something like a Toyota 1JZ swap into a BMW! I mean the story of how that came about must be hilarious. I think there are about 6-7 BMW’s now that have successfully done this swap, and I think its great. Now, it doesn’t mean everyone should go and swap out a awesome M motor, but if you want some out of the box reliable power then by all means go for it. I am curious as to how much heavier/lighter that 1JZ is compared to a boosted M50 motor. The E36 I have pictured below I spotted at H20 and always wondered why it sounded so different every time it passed by. Looking real good dropped on a set of CCW Classics, it really doesn’t need anything else.

Motorcycle x Car Drift Battle

WOW! This video from ICON surfaced a couple days ago and since then I’ve watched it about 10 times. I love everything about this video. From its content, to the cinematography, camera angles, using the RC car as a camera rig, the stretched ZX-10, the LS powered RX-7, and the rocker flagging them down at the end! Sick video and great work from the creators from every aspect.

Watch This!!

LS What??

If you don’t know, in the past couple years Chevy LS swaps have become retardedly popular in just about anything it can fit in. I personally LOVE the idea, since its such a light motor and puts out great, reliable horsepower. Having said that, I came across this Porsche and I’m not too sure I like it. Porsche is a ultimate driving machine made perfect from factory. I am open to doing different, out of the box things, but I think this might be over the edge. On one hand I love it cause its a damn 8-cylinder in a Porsche, but on the other hand I wouldn’t mess with Porsche perfection that much. Props to the owner for doing a great job and keeping it clean.

Snow Snow Go Away!

Yep, it snowed again in New York, and its getting on my nerves! But as much as I hate snow, I really love some of the pictures that surface during the winter. Here is another example. The holy Nissan GTR with a set of BBS CH-R wheels. So beautiful!

The Beetle of Beetles

The beetle, another car in my long list of “want to own” cars. The beetle is not known to be a performance car at all. Guys either restore them or slam them on their frames. Recently found this and thought it was really cool. Its the Volkswagen Beetle RS Kafer Type 1 or just the “super beetle”. A lot of these RS’ are modified beyond factory specs, but originally they had front strut set up that allows for threaded body coilover options, and Independent Rear Suspension allows for 944 trailing arm swap (wider track, disc brakes and 5×130 PCD). Thats a great improvement over stock. With motor mods I’m sure it flies. I would love to see how one of  these perform on the track. They must be light as a feather.

This is exciting news I’ve been waiting for. Rossi is going to Ducati for this coming season, and its always exciting to see the new livery on the bike as well as his new leather and hemlet. I really like the artistic side to the motorsports, and Rossi and his team do a good job of applying their personal artist side to the team.
