Besides being completely shocked seeing this car, the first thing that came to mind was that this Chevy Cobalt looks plain mean! Props to the owner for really thinking out of the box, and stancing out a Cobalt of all cars. I mean damn, just look at it. Looks like he’s rocking some sort of Volk TE reps and hopefully he has the hood off because he’s done some serious engine bay mods. I know the potential this car has horsepower wise, but who would’ve thought it could LOOK this good.
Not too sure how many of my viewers are serious race fans, but LeMans, for me, is one of the biggest races of the year. As a fan of German cars I usually find myself rooting for Audi and BMW is their respective classes. This year was full of excitement and shock for Audi with gaining the over all win, but losing two cars in tragic fashion in the process. I found the video below and it really documents the event very well from Audi’s perspective. Not many people know what goes into a race like this, and how big a competition Audi has going on with Peugeot.
If you have 13 minutes to blow, watch it.
Yes I know, the commentators voice is a little corny.
With the very exciting news of my brother’s progression on his ’67 Comaro project, we looked on the interweb for some inspiration and came across the 67 pictured below. It’s very close to how he wants to do it, but the opposite haha. The flat black looks great with the gloss black and carbon fiber accents. We were thinking of doing gloss black with flat black strips and a couple carbon fiber bits here and there. This car looks downright sinister and with the LS7 under the hood I’m sure it goes as good as it looks.
Ok, listen, I was nor am a fan of Nascar. I can always appreciate the work that goes into maintaining a race team and competing, but Nascar just doesn’t do it for me. It’s a combination of ugly looking cars and a very boring track. But I came across this video and had to post it up to give Nascar some credit. This isn’t a race, it’s a battle to the finish.
I apologize for the break in post’s. I spent a well needed vacation in Miami for my birthday weekend.
Anyways before I left I came across a new video of Mad Mike’s RX-7 in it’s newest garb. I have posted his car before, but as you can tell I really love the damn thing. It’s great to know Mike does a lot of the work on the car himself, as well as drives the crap out of it. Speaking of that, I posted a while back the reverse entry drift Mike is talking about. It would be AWESOME to see another drifter trying it.
The car looks really good as well. Mucho props.
I have shown plenty of video’s of the 2011 Worthersee Tour. Southern Worthersee is the American version of it. Held in a German “looking” town down in Georgia, dubber’s and the like completely take it over for the weekend. I haven’t attended this show yet, but I plan on it next year as the attendance number continue to rise drastically every year.
This is a great video and edit on the show, what it’s about, and what kind of cars your going to see out. Pretty good stuff.
Gatebil track event is sort of like a best of the best show off. It’s an event held overseas and it is getting bigger and bigger each year. Just think of all the super crazy highly modified ridiculous horsepower cars, stick them on a track and hold time attack and drift competitions. That’s Gatebil. I have come to realize over the years that this is another event I must attend before I die. Crazy horsepower cars doing insane things on a race track and you can’t lose. It just also amazing on how high quality and rare some of the cars are.
Here is a short clip of the event this year. You won’t be disappointed watching it.
Once in a while we all think about what cars we would buy if we won the lotto. I’m sure, being driven around in a Rolls, would run through your mind. But for people like me, we just can’t keep anything stock! I came across these photo’s of a Phantom slammed on it’s air ride suspension. Just think, wouldn’t it be crazy to see this thing stanced out on 24’s? Talk about jaw dropping. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before it happens. Until then we can only use our imagination.
I’ve been wanting to post something on Ben Spies recent MotoGP win. It has been a very long time since any American won a GP race so this win was very special for many reasons. He really rode a flawless race and it was much deserved. Ben Spies also rides on the Yamaha team and it was Yamaha’s 50th anniversary. It was pretty awesome how things worked out. Pictured below is Ben’s bike with the 50th anniversary livery.
I love the look.
