I am beginning to realize I am becoming more and more busy, so full coverage of events might not always happen, but I will try my best to bring them to you guys. This past weekend was the most intense weekend of the entire summer. I started friday evening, and didn’t get real sleep until sunday night. With Tuner Evolution saturday, SNTRL’s Pre-game saturday night, and Wekfest all day sunday, I was exhausted to say the least. Running completely off my love and passion for this community.  Anyways Tuner Evolution was a pretty dope show. We didn’t stay too long, so I didn’t get all the shots I wanted but I got most of the quality cars being shown.

On to my coverage.

A little bubble bath action for the Unique Auto members.

One of the first cars that caught my eye was this Evo on air. It’s pretty crazy how popular Evo X’s have gotten and how damn good they look modded.

A VERY dope VW line-up, more on the first two cars in a bit!

Unique at the Fresh Meet Booth.

Always supporting my buddy Anthony and his videography. Fernando’s Lancer always looking good.

A beautiful 993 Turbo on CCW’s.

This for me was the car of the show. Not only did it look immaculate but it was powered by a twin turbo V8. Absolutely nuts! Owner said it was built completely in his backyard. Props!

The two other, equally as impressive AE86’s from that crew.

You have to love track cars that are this clean. Look at that bay!

I think was the first modded BRZ I had seen in person. Really liking it.

I really love how these flair accentuate the body lines so well. It’s hard to make flairs on a big car work but the owner has succeeded. Gotta love the Works and matching Recaro’s.

Most people walked right past this car because, lets be honest, it’s pretty riced out. But look past the rice and it’s a car that was never brought to the states, Mitsubishi FTO.

Beautiful Caddy. Not sure if it was on air or not, but it was super low and sitting on the tires.

Bagged Jetta on Rotiform SNA’s that I really want to buy for the S4.

Dude was doing wheelie’s throughout the entire event.

Interesting Quad on 24’s.

First time seeing this car is person as well. The Rotiform TMB’s make this car look baller as hell. So dope!

Another dope looking Evo 10.

You can’t ever go wrong with a NSX on Works. Loved seeing this car all weekend.

Seeing a couple really dope modded MR2’s this weekend was cool. This was nice and simple, dropped on CCW’s.

The self proclaimed “Money Team”. haha Love these guys.

Will always love these Lexus SC’s.

Of course with my large soft spot for stretched bikes I had to snap a picture of this one. Damn, I want one so bad!

This would be a lovely daily for me if crime wasn’t so crazy for these Honda’s.

Although 18’s may be a tad bit too small, these CCW’s look great on this E92.

Always great seeing this M3 on Rotiforms. It’s crazy this car is driven as much as it is with that front lip as close to the ground as it is.

Although a little bias, this was the car I couldn’t stop staring at the entire show. It just looked so damn good!. Perfect fitment. Great patena. Huge inspiration.

Well that about does it for my coverage. I may have mentioned this before, but I will not have as many in-depth coverage like I have before, but I will when I have the time to. Until next time…

Sitting Right

“Stance” I believe is a word that gets a bad rap. Mainly because it’s overused by attention whores who do it for the looks they get. At the end of the day there is a science to getting the right fitment. It’s not something you can guess, you have to do a ton a research, measuring and some trial and error to get it down. I have some ideas of where “fitment” will be going in the future, but I’ll keep that to myself. Having said that, I do believe the guy that build cars right, will always take things in the right direction. For the MK1 guys, you know how hard it is at times to get 13’s to sit right. It’s a small car, but 13’s will always be small wheels. So when you do come across a car that pulled it off absolutely perfectly, it stands out like a mother!

Damn this thing looks good.

Depth of Speed: Back to Life

You always love to hear stories of cars being brought back to life. It almost makes the build a greater experience. Depth of Speed really puts together a great video series and it was great to have someone share the love the volkswagen community gives. It’s what it’s all about, learning and building on your own. Doing things you never thought you could. Props to the owner for building it berg cup style. It’s something that isn’t too popular and takes a lot of commitment.

Enjoy!

Volvo’s Are Not Cool

Except this one. It’s pretty crazy when certain cars trend to popularity. It’s plain crazy that these Volvo’s have gotten as popular as they have. You really cant blame every one because they do look really good when modded right. And some of the 5-cylinder motors sounds absolutely amazing. Many people know this build, and as you can see it was recently painted and absolutely perfect shade of green. This seriously is, the perfect Volvo.

It’s The Subtle That Stands Out

With the facebook page up and running I really am trying to find a new identity for this blog. Eventually it will be re-named “True Driving”, like the fb page and cover more personal experiences and likes, as well as our builds and projects. All in time. Thank for all our followers for the support!

On to a post, I was having  a conversation with a fellow car builder about why we just dont understand there over-the-top widebody, tv in every nook and cranny type build. It almost makes you think, who is right? Short answer is nobody, it simply comes down to personal preference. A lot of the guys I hang out with enjoy the subtle mods and its reflected in their lifestyle. This is why we have different communities. I came across this picture of a old school 5 series dropped a set of pretty rare BBS’. This to me, is perfect. It doesn’t need anything else. Beautiful color combination. Classic lines. What else does it need?

Older N’ Faster

I really am a sucker for automotive history. I love to learn where trends came from, how things started, and how it makes things they way they are now. When people hear “Cal look” I think we think of a state of mind and life style more then anything else. But it really comes down to these group of Beetle owners who modded their Bugs the way they wanted and didn’t care what anyone thought. When you think about it, and look at the cars, they take a lot of features from how the American muscle cars were modded back in the day. I personally think it’s cool as hell these guys created such a cool look to these cars. Oh, and of course I am posting it because it’s another Stephen Brooks creation. He seriously is making the best videos currently. Plain and simple.

Props.

Dead End 53 Chevy

I am really acquiring a small addicting for these classic 50’s era American cars. Especially with the right about patina and flair with a touch of air ride. There is just something that is just so badass about rolling down the road in something like this. Something with so much character. Props to the owner for driving it as much as he does. Like it should be.

An Interesting Twist

Thought I’d posting something a little different today. Was doing my usual forum surfing when I came across this Miata and of course it caught my eye. This is seriously the first new style Miata that I am in loveeee with. I see the foreign plates so I can’t say for sure that it’s on air, but it is low as hell and looks absolutely amazing. It’s rocking the new retractable hard top too. Ah man does this car have potential!

Depth of Speed: Something From Nothing

It’s fair to say that a dream for must of us-car enthusiasts, is to be able to build cars and modify from scratch. It’s crazy when you think about it, because it takes about 10 times longer to build things the right way. But it’s about a passion, its not about the time. Another great video explaining that this passion doesn’t need to make sense, that’s why it’s a passion. It’s not about the money its about the love of creating something from nothing.

The Cars of Queens

After a very long day spent around Honda’s, taking a buddy home in Queens, tired as hell, we were immediately woken up by two incredible muscle cars rolling in the opposite direction. Of course we did what any cars nuts would do and pulled a u-turn as soon as we could. What we had saw were two SICK Dodge Coronet’s. It was one of those surreal moments when you see a car in NY streets that you would find in a magazine. It was a pretty amazing moment. You really can’t get any better then classic American muscle rolling through NYC streets. I found a couple vids of the cars and thought I would share. So dope!
